The ban was In proper use If you would've said JUST KIDDING at the end I would've understand but this ? Rofl you really must be ...... for thinking not getting banned for THAT lol, You could've easily be a real scammer, It means take the doubt and even IF you are Innocent then so what ?

In my books, just posting that isn't scamming. That is giving incorrect information. You see tons of noobs in LA/Kamadan post that and they didn't get banned. I say its scamming when you scam someone in trade. For example, if I DID scam someone, then I deserve to get suspended.

I feel this is way too harsh. I really hope ncsoft will review it.

I'm talking about the Stupid Tax post, since every scam happens mostly because people are beeing mislead, so if you're going to say that someone who falls for that deserves, by your logic you're gonna have to extend that to every damn scam on the game.

As for your situation, anyone can easily see the intention to scam regardless if you're just kidding or not because they won't know. The folks behind the ban hammer are no different and they sure as hell don't think twice to hit you with it if they're seeing that kind of behaviour. They're not at fault because even though you were joking you were still doing something you shouldn't, and it keeps every scamer who tries to scam and fails to walk around because they haven't actually been busted after the act was done. And honestly I like it better that way. Try walking into a bank waving a gun around, and after that try telling everyone you were just joking. You'll have your ass thrown in jail regardless.

next time you are bored, just ask, not spam.."can sum1 plz gief me munnies to open mah storage" do that across a few districts/outposts/campaigns for like 30 min at a time, with different characters.

Bottom line is you shouldent have falsely advertised for items which clearly look like a scam, the other 200 people in kamadan have no idea if you where joking around or not, hence the person who reported you probably felt like you were scamming people.

Lesson is dont do it again, thats all there is to it. Also in my opinion this thread should be closed if it turns into flamewars, the lad will learn from his mistake.

I'd like to add to this. also make sure to state you were recently hacked as well (all "toonz" deleted). that will net you bonus $$$$. I know people who've had upwards of 20k given to them.

Anyways, I'm sorta taking Braxton's side here.

The thing is, he did something..that most people do anyway. People give out misleading information about things all the time, most don't know what they are talking about, and others are telling jokes for lulz, either way...there is no way to tell.

Braxton gained NO benefit from this whatsoever (according to his post) and NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE was harmed by it either.

And I swear if anyone quotes me and says "well some people might believe it" I'll tell you...No, go punch in Frozen Ecto on one of the TWO wikis at GW players' disposal and read the page yourself. There is no reason for anyone to be stupid when there are two wikis.

Yup, same thing I did a few times on Diablo 2 to get leetz gearz...but today...in GW are you sure someone just wont report you for begging and then anet reviews that you didn't get banned and THEN you get banned? Oldest trick in the book though.

I've left out some things (like duh [to those who attempt it], don't use a lv 20 char to do it), if you know what I mean. it's all in how savvy and inventive the player is. ;-P

Did the offer end with lol or just kidding? If not, there's no way to know if you were kidding or really trying to scam. Just because someone says "I didn't do it" doesn't mean they didn't do it.

If I saw someone I thought was really trying to that, I'd report 'em too.
